In the fall of 2021, the CGBRO conducted a field survey of waterfowl hunters in the wildlife refuge area. The purpose of this survey is to determine hunting effort, which can be compared with results from previous surveys, and to assess the importance of this activity. It is also intended to determine what areas are being used by hunters, what hunting methods are being used, and what hunters’ opinions are regarding certain regulatory changes that may be made as a result of the creation of the wildlife refuge. This field survey complements an online survey conducted at the same time among all land users.
